Founded in 1933,HANG SENG BANK focuses its business on the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and mainland China markets.The Bank serves more than one-third of the population in Hong Kong.
The Bank operates over 150 branches and automated banking centres in Hong Kong, and a network of 12 Mainland outlets,including six branches (in Beijing,Shanghai,Guangzhou,Shenzhen,Fuzhou and Nanjing); four sub-branches (three in Shanghai and one in Shenzhen) and two representative offices (in Xiamen and Dongguan).It also has a branch in Macau and a representative office in Taipei.
In May 2004,Hang Seng acquired a 15.98% stake in Industrial Bank for RMB1.726 billion (HK$1.626 billion).
